Who, What, When, Where?

A group of parents, grandparents, and Christian educators who want the best for their children and grandchildren have joined forces to establish the Living Waters Classical Christian Academy in Delta County, Michigan.  Founded in 2024, the Living Waters Academy aspires to become a K-12 school, but we are currently taking enrollments in grades K-8.  Living Waters Academy is a private school that is offering a classical liberal arts education that will be immersed in traditional Judeo-Christian values.  Classes are tentatively scheduled from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM weekdays beginning September 3, 2024.  The school will be located in the Gladstone-Escanaba area, but the exact location of the school cannot be disclosed until arrangements are finalized.

How?

Living Waters plans to teach from a proven classical curriculum employing the trivium model of education as prescribed in a now famous essay by Dorothy Sayers titled, "The Lost Tools of Learning".  This combination of method and material has been successfully tested by a myriad of schools that belong to the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS).  Their record of success is stellar and undeniable and has been independently confirmed in a study conducted by the University of Notre Dame which compares 6 different methods of K-12 education.  You can examine the results of the "Good Soil Study" on the ACCS website.  Living Waters Classical Christian Academy became a member of the ACCS early in 2024 and we intend to follow in the footsteps of those trail blazers who have gone before us.

Why?

The Bible informs us to raise up our children in the way they should go... and to raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord.  Because of this charge, our goal is to impart knowledge with values, understanding with humility, and wisdom guided by virtue so that our students will learn to seek, find, and proclaim truth and order in all areas of academic study, and recognize what is true, good, and beautiful in all areas of life.  Our intention is to teach students to teach themselves - to give them the ability to learn and discern - and to express themselves with confidence and grace.  To engage students in a quality Christ-centered education that equips and challenges them to reach their unique potential to produce the next generation of well-rounded servant leaders.
